I don’t think it’s condescending because somebody particularly if they dont’ sew all the time would think that a piece of tissue in the envelope was a pattern piece and would appreciate being told that it wasn’t.
I think that is cute, and helpful to a novice. Imagine sitting and wondering how this rectangle of tissue was supposed to be incorporated into the pattern.
