Instructions

This was printed on a piece of tissue in an old pattern I opened recently:

I can’t decide if it’s adorably and charmingly helpful, or painfully condescending. What do you think?

  1. I don’t think it’s condescending because somebody particularly if they dont’ sew all the time would think that a piece of tissue in the envelope was a pattern piece and would appreciate being told that it wasn’t.

  2. I think that is cute, and helpful to a novice. Imagine sitting and wondering how this rectangle of tissue was supposed to be incorporated into the pattern.

  3. Painfully charming, I’d say. Although George Carlin said you should never underestimate the stupidity of people in large numbers.
