Exhibitions I have loved and missed

Ah, The Met. You are a jewel in Central Park. I spent many hours in you and wish that I had spent many more.

Shiny Egyptian treasures at The Met.

I also wish that I could be there now to see your new exhibition, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, which was being installed while I was in New York. So close but so far. I leafed through the accompanying tome of handsomeness but couldn’t rationalise its purchase.

Instead I made do with a very pleasing consolation prize: the High Style book of costumes in the Brooklyn Museum/Met collection. This was published to accompany a 2010 exhibition, American High Style: Fashioning a National Collection.

Oh, but for a TARDIS so I could see both of these shows now.
